Nelson Weekend Projects

Here was my weekend art project- a mail holder and dry erase calendar.

Anthony's weekend project was this coat rack made from pallets.

Here are the rest of the pics from the the Will family visit. Thanks Mom and Dad, we had a blast!

 First thing- tour of the new house! Finally got to show our family our new dining table :) 

 Chicken tacos, avocados and corn salsa... yum.

 Happy Father's Day! I made dad a blueberry pie, from scratch! My first one ever and it turned out great!

 Hiking at McCullough Gulch near Breckenridge. Such a great hike! Full of wildflowers and waterfalls.

 Subway for lunch near the waterfall.

 After hiking and shopping in Breckenridge, we headed to Dillon where we stayed for the night. The marina was right next to our hotel so we took a walk around the lake settled in the mountains- beautiful. 

 A Colorado favorite- mountain pie pizza :) 

White Water Rafting in Idaho Springs! It was a blast. The only person that fell out was our guide! We got to go over lots of waves and even 'surfed' our raft in a couple of them.

The Will's Visit

This past week my parents visited us and stayed at our place. We had a great time! The first day they helped us landscape our front yard. Here is our hard work :)

Anthony built a table completely out of pallets for our bible study friends. Here is a picture before the stain.

New things

Couple of new things in the Nelson home. With Anthony working on the weekends, I've been spending the weekends working on home projects and sewing. This weekend it was landscaping and repurposing clothes! The garden is in and the first bean sprouted up tonight! Also found some good deals on plants and flowers and potted them in front of our home.

The other half of the weekend I spent searching thrift stores for XXL clothes to repurpose the fabric. Here is my first of many projects : ) A maxi dress.

Anthony and I also replaced the garbage disposal this weekend! Yay no more rotting smells coming from the sink.

Fire in Black Forest

This afternoon a fire started in the Black Forest Area. We are still about 8 miles away from the evacuation zone, but we have some friends that are packing their bags.

It about 95 degrees today and windy, so we're praying that it is contained soon. So far we are not in harms way, but we never thought we would have the discussion about evacuating.

Scary stuff. Here are some pictures, one from on my way home from work and the other is outside our house.

New Dining Room Table!

Picked up a barely used dining room last night! Found it on Craigslist but it came from a gorgeous home. After picking up the table, we found ourselves just driving through the 'mansions' in the Black Forest area. We have found our retirement neighborhood : )

The table looks great in our new space...and we can now fit up to 8 people! We are ready for company.
