Finally finished

Today I put on my last doors, the workbench is finally finished. Complete with switchable router table and table saw. Feels good.

For the past couple of weekends, Anthony and I have been installing new doors throughout the house. We finally finished this weekend! All of our interior doors are now 6 panel doors and we spray painted all the hardware an oil rubbed bronze color. Check out the pics!

Camping last weekend

Hello All,

Two weekends ago we thought we would try out the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo, which is only about 45 minutes south of us. We had some fun foods, Allison got her favorite chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick, and I got my turkey leg. Not nearly as big (or fun) as the Minnesota State Fair, but it was still fun.

Last weekend we decided to do a two night camping spree and climb another 14er (14k foot mountain), but it was cold and rainy the first night so we decided to try a different spot that we have camped at before. That worked out much better, and we had an all around great weekend! Check out some pics...

 We tried the old hard boiled egg in a Styrofoam cup trick, but the cups kept on breaking on us. Oh well.

 When we got to the second camp sight we followed in some friendly cattle, cute little calf following behind.

 Here is the bull of the heard that came about 10 minutes after the others passed.

Nelson Home Update

Hi all,

It's been a while since we've posted. We've been keeping busy with our bible study friends, family visits, work around the house and our jobs. Anthony has been doing a lot of wood work lately, check out these neat doors that he made for his workbench! He also made us a wood desk for downstairs. He's quite the handy man! 

I harvested our first vegetables from the garden and everything is doing so well! Our tomato plant is growing out of control, it seems that adding cow and sheep compost to our soil did the trick. 

This past week we had a crazy hail storm. There were 50 mph winds and nickel size hail. Lucky we made it through with only a few minor repairs. Like our fancy new back door on our garage!, so that the water doesn't flood our garage. Lots of people had flooding in their basements and many decks were ruined. I've spent a good chuck on time this weekend cleaning up all the leaves from the storm- a whole garbage full of debris! But luckily our house made it through the storm, so glad that ours is watertight. This storm was definitely a true test. 

Anthony's parents visited us and we celebrated Pam's birthday at On the Border. Came home and had these delicious cheesecake bites : ) It was good to see them!

Also, Cam and Kellie came to see us (Anthony's aunt and cousin). We had a good time with them. They came over for supper and we gave them the tour of Garden of the Gods. Thanks for coming to see us and for the great Thiselberry presents : ) 

That's about it around here. We are going camping again soon, so I'm sure we will have lots of pictures to share.

The Will Family at the Zoo

Here are the last of the pictures from when the Will's came out to visit. Anthony gave them the backstage tour and they got to feed hippos, penguins, hear his 'hippo talk' and give crickets to the frogs.
