Way to go Waseca

I was reading the magazine, Midwest Living, and found this event in the back pages! Who would have thought that Waseca, population 9000, would be in a major magazine. 

Nelson Home Update

Hi all,

It's been a while since we've posted. We've been keeping busy with our bible study friends, family visits, work around the house and our jobs. Anthony has been doing a lot of wood work lately, check out these neat doors that he made for his workbench! He also made us a wood desk for downstairs. He's quite the handy man! 

I harvested our first vegetables from the garden and everything is doing so well! Our tomato plant is growing out of control, it seems that adding cow and sheep compost to our soil did the trick. 

This past week we had a crazy hail storm. There were 50 mph winds and nickel size hail. Lucky we made it through with only a few minor repairs. Like our fancy new back door on our garage!, so that the water doesn't flood our garage. Lots of people had flooding in their basements and many decks were ruined. I've spent a good chuck on time this weekend cleaning up all the leaves from the storm- a whole garbage full of debris! But luckily our house made it through the storm, so glad that ours is watertight. This storm was definitely a true test. 

Anthony's parents visited us and we celebrated Pam's birthday at On the Border. Came home and had these delicious cheesecake bites : ) It was good to see them!

Also, Cam and Kellie came to see us (Anthony's aunt and cousin). We had a good time with them. They came over for supper and we gave them the tour of Garden of the Gods. Thanks for coming to see us and for the great Thiselberry presents : ) 

That's about it around here. We are going camping again soon, so I'm sure we will have lots of pictures to share.

The Will Family at the Zoo

Here are the last of the pictures from when the Will's came out to visit. Anthony gave them the backstage tour and they got to feed hippos, penguins, hear his 'hippo talk' and give crickets to the frogs.

Nelson Weekend Projects

Here was my weekend art project- a mail holder and dry erase calendar.

Anthony's weekend project was this coat rack made from pallets.

Will Visit... Continued

Here are the rest of the pics from the the Will family visit. Thanks Mom and Dad, we had a blast!

 First thing- tour of the new house! Finally got to show our family our new dining table :) 

 Chicken tacos, avocados and corn salsa... yum.

 Happy Father's Day! I made dad a blueberry pie, from scratch! My first one ever and it turned out great!

 Hiking at McCullough Gulch near Breckenridge. Such a great hike! Full of wildflowers and waterfalls.

 After hiking and shopping in Breckenridge, we headed to Dillon where we stayed for the night. The marina was right next to our hotel so we took a walk around the lake settled in the mountains- beautiful. 

 A Colorado favorite- mountain pie pizza :) 

White Water Rafting in Idaho Springs! It was a blast. The only person that fell out was our guide! We got to go over lots of waves and even 'surfed' our raft in a couple of them.

The Will's Visit

This past week my parents visited us and stayed at our place. We had a great time! The first day they helped us landscape our front yard. Here is our hard work :)
