The first 14er and fellow Minnesotans : )

There are those moments in life that you know that you will never forget, this is one of them for both of us. We had the pleasure of spending a few days with our good friends Sam and Elissa from Minnesota (you may recognize Elissa from wedding pics). Sam is originally from Boulder, CO, so we met up with him and his family on Saturday night, camped out, got up at 5:00am, and started the climb. Sam's dad Chris came with us, which was really great because their family has been doing missionary work in China for the past ten years. Needless to say, there were some great stories.

We hiked Mount Huron, elevation 14, 003 feet. Or as people here call them, a 14er. The climb up was intense to say the least, but we made it to the top and the payoff was definitely worth the work. We saw some cool animals along the way, and a lot of beautiful scenery. Enjoy the pics...

Getting Crafty...

 Hello All,

Sorry about the lack of posts lately, we have been running into some computer issues so it has been harder to get onto the blog. We have been having a really great time our here in Colorado Springs, really starting to feel at home and enjoy the city. Last weekend Allison and I decided to do some touristy type things, so here are some pictures...

Some of you might know that the US Olympic Team headquarters is here in Colorado Springs, so we decided to go tour the place and try to see some celebrities. Learned a lot about the athletes, but didn't see any famous ones. The triathlon competitors were training in the pool, and that was kind of cool to see. Made me think of my old swimming days. 

 We also went to the Money Museum, but they didn't allow any pictures inside due to security reasons. This picture was taken outside by a large coin press.

The previously mentioned computer problems are related to my laptop, and the screen not working. So we had to buy a monitor so I can see what I'm doing. Since we have a monitor, we needed a desk. Since we are stingy, I decided to build a desk completely out of free pallets that I can get from work. Allison decided to get artistic with the camera : )

Fun with the Nelsons

Hey everybody! Anthony's parents came down to visit us for the weekend and naturally we headed to his favorite place- the zoo : ) Had a great time feeding the giraffes and birds and touching wallabies!

  

Packed a picnic for the zoo- chicken salad sandwiches! Thanks everyone for all the new things!
