We had a terrific honeymoon! The Majestic Colonial Resort in the Dominican Republic was a very beautiful place! The food was terrific, the entertainment was great, and our room was very fancy. There were reefs just off of the shore, so we went snorkeling about every other day. We saw stingrays, sea turtles, squid, and a whole bunch of really cool fish. Our room at the resort was surrounded by palm trees and beautiful flowers, and only about a minute's walk from the ocean.
Our days pretty much consisted of waking up and throwing on our swimsuits, going to breakfast, hitting the beach or 400 meter long pool, eating a huge lunch, hitting the beach again, getting dolled up for dinner, eating huge delicious dinners, watching some sweet shows, and doing the whole thing over the next day.
We went on an excursion and swam with huge 3 foot rays and about 30 nine-foot reef sharks. We also went to a local shopping area to barter with the locals, and I bought a machete (got him down from $85 to $16).
It was a great trip, and we are excited to start the next chapter of our lives! We leave for Colorado tomorrow morning! Driving straight through to Denver and staying with some very generous relatives while we search for apartments in Colorado Springs. We'll keep you posted!
